Arden Hills is a vibrant community
that values our one-of-a-kind environment, our economic stability, and
our traditions as a desirable city in which to reside, work, and engage
in recreation. Our lakes, trails, and parks provide the backdrop
for strong, active, and diverse neighborhoods.
With access to I-694 and I-35W, a highly
accomplished workforce, and ample space, Arden Hills is well situated
to meet the needs of business. Corporations such as Boston Scientific,
Land O' Lakes, and Syntegra have made Arden Hills their home.
The vital business community is complemented
by community assets such as Bethel University, Northwestern College,
Mounds View High School, strong churches, an extensive trail system,
numerous lakes, and significant open space. Arden Hills is also
home to the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP), one of the largest
undeveloped tracts in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.
The Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant
(TCAAP) occupies over one-third of the entire land area in Arden Hills,
or approximately 4 square miles (2,330 acres), in the northern part
of the City. The federal government has deeded approximately 1600
acres of this land to the National Guard and Minnesota Army Reserves,
118 acres along Rice Creek to Ramsey County, several acres for the City
Hall and Ramsey County Public Works facilities, and the State of Minnesota.
The City has made an offer to purchase the remaining 585 acres to redevelop
with a mix of housing, commercial, retail, industrial, parks and open
space, based on the Framework Vision that was developed for the property
in 2002.
